For those choosing to fast alongside the Jewish people, there will be soup and rolls in the farmhouse at 19:15 to break the fast.
Interesting facts:
- Yom Kippur is a day of fasting. No work is done on this day, including at home. Many people spend the day reviewing the past year and praying for forgiveness of their sins. At the end of the day they 'break-fast' with a celebratory meal.
- The book of Jonah is read during the afternoon service to remind people of God’s forgiveness and mercy.
