The Fire of Faith

Our faith is this light, shining in the wilderness, as we journey with The LORD; a fire that shines in the darkness, only burning as strong and bright, just like a natural fire, as how, what and when we feed it.

To do this, in whatever season we walk in and the challenges they bring, is an ongoing everyday leap of faith that leads to acts of wild exploration to source healthy and right natural provisions of materials, a personal dedication of our time and attention, a dedicated commitment and willingness to nurture, constant acts of patience and perseverance to maintain at all costs, and a constant honed development of knowledge and skills to first build the fire, then to light it, and finally to keep 'alive' both the embers and the flames.

Fire is a multi-faceted 'weapon' for, and in, both the everyday and the wilderness. Our faith is no different; it is revealed in the battle, reflected by how we respond and refined as we stand in the storm. This day will seek to explore the parallels between and the entwined nature of fire and faith, challenging us to really look at our faith and how it stands for the battle, through the use of teaching, short practical activities, reflection and key questions.

The day will include times in the woodland and open spaces of the Red Hill estate, so please bring clothing and footwear appropriate for walking, sitting and the changeable British weather!

This day is a free event, it will be held in our stretch tent which is in the field adjacent to the camping field, please make sure you bring your own lunch.

Mark is Red Hill's Finance Manager and founder of Survival 24:7, a Bushcraft and Survival company with a twist! He has completed 2 years of extensive Survival and Bushcraft training, and he has led and instructed on an eclectic mix of outdoor events for young people and adults.

Mark is gifted in teaching, pastoral and next-generation ministries, with a real heart to challenge Survival in every aspect of life and a passionate heart to deliver God's visions and plans at Red Hill.

Red Hill is a small Christian charity and relies on the provision of God through the giving of individuals to continue His work. This is a free event, however if you feel you would like to contribute to the work of Red Hill, you can now donate whilst booking your tickets.  Please just manually enter the amount into the "write a price" box. If you would like to attend but choose not to donate, please just enter a zero into this box. Alternatively, we would welcome donations on the day.
