About the event
The axe is one of the key survival and bushcraft ‘kit bag’ tools. Whether you are simply curious or a more seasoned lover of axes, this fun day has something for everyone.
We will explore all aspects of use and maintenance, covering: (1) How to use an axe to its full potential – safely, efficiently and competently; (2) How to maintain and prolong the life of an axe, and: (3) History and development of the axe, from its humble stone and wood origins to today’s present-day precision.
The day will include times within the woodland and open spaces of the Red Hill estate, so please bring clothing and appropriate footwear for the changeable British weather and your own lunch. If you need any additional information, please contact the office.
