About the event

The axe is one of the key tools needed for working in the great outdoors. Whether you are a curious novice or a more seasoned lover of axes, this fun day has something for everyone to learn. We will explore all aspects of its use and maintenance. We will cover: (1) How to use an axe to its full potential – safely, efficiently and competently (2) How to maintain and prolong the life of an axe and (3) its history and development from its humble stone and wood origins to its present-day precision.

The day will include times within the woodland and open spaces of the Red Hill estate, so please bring clothing and appropriate footwear for the changeable British weather. Please bring your own lunch for a 12.30pm lunch-break.

As tickets are limited, please ensure you book your place and let us know if you are unable to attend. If you need any additional information, please contact the office.
